Microsoft just announced that the Web Client interface for Dynamics 365 (Classic UI) will be deprecated on October 1, 2020. You can read more about it here:

I'm guessing that the withdrawal of the classic UI will not apply to the so-called 'Advanced Settings' area?
Because presumably, MS are not building a UCI version of the workflow designer?

@Donal McCarthy - I'm not sure. With the push to use Microsoft Flow it makes one wonder how long the legacy workflow designer/builder will last.

@Aaron Back - has to stay around for a while longer, if not indefinitely.
Imagine all the workflows that would have to be recreated!
Also - while it might get to native feature parity at some stage soon, I would imagine that it will be a long time until Flow has parity with the features afforded by things like TCS Tools, XRM Toolbox, Dynamics Workflow Tools and Worklow Elements (to name a few of the lifesavers I use).

@Donal McCarthy - I agree. The classic workflows will (should?) be around for a while. But, Microsoft has been unpredictable in the past.

@Peter Gulka - That internal voice screams at me as well. Ha!

Personally I expect the same will happen to classic workflows as happened to Dynamics for Outlook Plugin:

    1. MS will announce deprecation way too soon.
    2. Since too many businesses heavily rely on it there will be a huge outcry and much feedback of why Flow is not ready yet.
    3. MS will announce the deprecation to be undone but not add new features anymore.
    4. MS will continue to invest heavily in Flow and work on making it a reasonable replacement for classic workflow.
    5. Eventually they will deprecate.

What I'm most worried about is the increase in costs that are coming along with all these changes. One of our main reasons for going with Dynamics in the past was the simple and reasonably priced license structure. Now I feel I need a degree in Engineering just to understand the different license types and which are the ones we need for our users.

Lots of internal screaming happening here as well...

@Sissy Bottcher - And to add to your great comments, there currently isn't an option to run on-demand Flows from within Dynamics 365. If you search through the templates and choose the "Dynamics 365 Button", and then start to build a Flow, you will see "deprecated" next to it.

If you search through the options for Automated or Instant using "selected" as a search term, there aren't any results.

As mentioned in this Microsoft Idea submitted, is there any official documentation where we can look through the feature gaps?

So far, I only found Capabilities not yet on Unified Interface and Read-only entities on Unified Interface on About Unified Interface on MS Documentation site (which are not complete and accurate)
