I would like to use Power Apps to created activities inside Dynamics 365.

I am thinking of using Data Flows.

However, the tricky part are activities. I need the Regarding Object ID to have a value.

For example, if the contacts are new and the phone calls are new, How do I know the contact ID (which has not been created yet) in order to insert into the Regarding ID for the Phone Call record?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Does the data have to all be created at once? Can you not separate your Flows 'Create Contact' and then Create 'Phone Calls' The other option would be creating a Flow but add a delay action in-between creating the Contacts and then the Phone Calls.

    Thanks for your comment Adam,

It is true that the data does not have to be created at once. However, I do not see how to retrieve the newly created contact IDS, after they have been imported, and then apply them to the regarding ID column before inserting into the Phone Calls Table. Would Flow allow me to have temporary storage?

This is what I would do:
    1. Flag the Contact records you are importing
    2. Create a List Row Action and set Filter Rows to retrieve the flagged Contacts
    3. Next add a Add a new row Action - Set the field Regarding(Contacts) /contacts(Contacts) This is the unique identifier from the Contact List Rows Action

Thanks! I will try that out. In parallel, I am researching the Azure Data Factory with pipelines.

I was able to build several pipelines with Azure Data Factory. In combination with SQL database Tables/Views and custom fields to store special unique keys between the SQL database records and custom fields added to Dynamics 365, I was able to get everything working.

    Hello,

Well, I have come up with a solution for you.

Manage all your CRM activities from a single screen with our Dynamics 365/CRM Activity Calendar. Now, it supports Power Apps (CDS) to manage activities, along with multiple filters of Users, Teams, Activities, Facility-equipment, etc. You can configure your as well as your team members' calendar.

You can give a try to Calendar 365 - Activity Calendar For PowerApps

    Hope this helps!
