Have you built any PowerApps?

    I've been spending more time configuring custom business apps in D365 using PowerApps and I am just so dang excited about the possibilities they present to organizations I am working with. What a wonderful way to personalize and streamline the end user experience. I especially like how simple it now is through PowerApps to limit the system views and decrease unnecessary noise for a specific user group.

    Combine a tailored App with some Task Flows personalized to your organization and BAM! What a powerful tool to aid in User Adoption. And all through configuration! No custom code, plug-ins, custom apps. Just out of the box configuration.

    Just a shout out to how great these are! If you haven't used either yet, you should check them out.

    If you have used them, I'd love to hear how they work for you! What have you done to help your end users, especially if they're on the new v9 mobile app?

    @Heidi Neuhauser The app designer is indeed very useful. Have you been able to introduce any branding at the app level? As far as I can make out, color choices and so on are an organization level only feature through themes.

    One thing that I'm not so fond of, is that fact that if you edit a view in the app designer (e.g. add or remove a column), those edits are applied to all other apps that use the same view. This seems somewhat counterintuitive to the idea of apps to me.

    I agree with everything you have said. I am also having fun with PowerApps. I am working creating apps for different security roles which allows me to create views that are more specific to a role and not create noise for other users.

    Currently my only open request is to allow me to associate a PowerApp to a Business Unit rather than just to a set of security roles. So much potential and as they grow I hope they honor and align to all things Dynamics 365 application security.

    I love using the Power Apps for our different CRM user groups.  I created one for our sales team and one for our support teams.  When the users sign into CRM, we added a JavaScript that checks users security role and refreshes them into the right app for there role.  It works well and keeps people from poking around in areas they shouldn't.

    We are in the process of building custom Apps for our different departments and so far during pilot testing users like the idea of not having to navigate through a classic sitemap when they don't use about 90% of the functionality.
    @Matt Munson I think we are going to have to implement some Javascript to load  the correct app for different roles. For me that is a glaring gap; MSFT is encouraging us to move to the Unified Interface and Powerapps but they didn't provide a simple way or at least that I know of to allow administrator to default users to the correct app when they login without have to change the URL

    Did you get a chance when in Phoenix at the CRMUG Summit to see how we have integrated DocumentsCorePack with Flow and PowerApps?  It is exciting thinking how our document generation and processing solution can work hand-in-hand with these newer technologies.  We also did a live webinar that showcased how these can work together, and the recording is included in the following link:

    I have been using powerapps to create an app for each bus division only showing that units forms and flows. We also customized the menu options to cut out unnecessary options and static.

    @Matt Munson @Edrei Mpanduki
    To restrict app access to that unit: In the parent org I created a new role for each unit labeled App Access I then assign only that role to the app, I also assign that role to the business unit at the team level.
