    Hi All

Has anybody experience performance degradation issues for certain users? I found this thread in the forums and confirmed that this is what is happening for our users. The latest cumulative patch 8.2.5 did not resolve the issue.

However, trying to get this KB4466751 file from MS support is like pulling teeth (every single one of them). Does anyone have this file and willing to share? Pretty please.

    Thanks!

    Hi Rex,

We had major issues with these RecentlyViewedXml getting too large while we were on 8.2.1 on-premise. Some users had xml records over 5 million characters long. After contacting MS we were assured that the latest update 8.2.3 (back in December 2018) would fix the problem. After updating our issue had been solved, each RecentlyViewedXml seems to cap at around 20,000 characters.

We have since upgraded to 8.2.4 (8.2.5 will be soon) and haven't seen any new problems with RecentlyViewedXml.

    Cheers,

    Hi Graem

Microsoft support never ceases to amaze me. *sarcasm* The tech support I talked to claimed that this is a known issue and has NOT yet been addressed.

We are currently at 8.2.5 and are still seeing the issue happen.

Did you do any additional steps besides applying the patch?

    Thanks!

    Hi Rex,

It is possible that your fields are so large that they need to be manually deleted. We had to do some manual deletion directly on our database before the update was available:

    update UserEntityUISettingsBase
    set RecentlyViewedXml = null
    where OwnerId =''

You could try to remove the RecentlyViewedXml from one of your impacted users using the above query in SSMS. It's not recommended to do this on your Production environment though.

    Cheers,
