Is there a way we can prevent emails from being sent to the same user twice in a campaign automation?
Alternatively, is there a way we prevent the same person from being uploaded a second time to a marketing list? Please advise.
Hello -I have established that simply trying to add someone to a list is what triggers the ClickDimensions Campaign Automation, it doesn't wait to see if is actually added. Therefore, if a record is already on the list and someone or an automated process try's to add it to the list again, the Campaign Automation will run again.
As for the suppression list, it suppresses by GUID, not by email address so if you have duplicates in the system, it will not work. This is the same for sending out mass emails as well.
Due to these fundamental issues, we do not use Campaign Automation unless it is a net new record being added. That way we know an attempt to add a record to a list twice will never occur thereby eliminating the possibility to have it go down that path more than once.
