    Hi,

Since two or three weeks ago I discovered in my Power Platform admin center under Capacity Section related to one single Instance and File Usage new tables related to Analytics (total 3 GB !!)

    what are they?

I have a discussion thread ongoing about this as well. I have a support case open with Microsoft. The contact-Analytics and account-Analytics are the two files taking up the most space in our org. They are used with the "Relationship analytics and health" feature of Sales Insights. After I turned that feature on in our test sandbox org, the file storage went from 5 GB to 38 GB. Two files are taking 33 GB!. I have since turned off the feature to see if the files would have information deleted and return to minimal size but they haven't. Microsoft support is still experimenting and working to determine how to get the space back.

This morning I got another bad surprise when I logged into the Power Platform Admin Center. Our production instance is now consuming large amounts of file storage and the following files had a huge jump on July 25 when two more Microsoft solutions were installed as part of their scheduled maintenance.

    email-Analytics, activityparty-Analytics, contact-Analytics, lead-Analytics, connection-Analytics, account-Analytics

The "Relationship analytics and health" feature of Sales Insights was never turned on in our production org, so their working theory about that being the cause seems to be incorrect.

I recently had the same thing happen in two of my Sandbox environments, but not in Production.  I started a Microsoft ticket in order to get the space cleared.  They noted that only through a ticket would they be able to free this space back up.

I inquired as to how these records are generated.  Support told me it was an opt in that you had to do on an environment to environment basis.  I indicated that I did no such opting in.  After some back and forth they informed me that there was a bug that caused some environments to automatically opt in to this analysis.  My suspicion is that it occurred around the release of Wave 1.

Microsoft support suggested that I delete the following two managed solutions to get the file storage space back: SalesInsightsAddOn and SalesInsightsMDLConfig.

After a day or two, the file storage was back to where it started. Now it shows less than 1 GB total file storage used in our test org, which is down from 38 GB when those solutions were installed.

In the future if we decide we need that type of analytics, we'll need to factor in the cost of the file storage.
