Remove Invoice, Quote and Product from advanced find

I do not want to use invoice, quote or product. I am creating my own product entity that will be linked to opportunity. It seems users are forced to have access to invoice, quote and product even if you don't want to use them. Without access, they are unable to save an opportunity in another currency (no idea why that is).

There is apparently no way to remove an entity from advanced find without changing permissions. Despite the entity metadata having a flag called IsValidForAdvancedFind, there is no supported way to update the value (again, no idea why).

It is infuriating that such basic functionality is "not supported out-of-the-box". Can anyone advise? I contacted Microsoft support who simply said not supported. I have raised an idea on the community website but along with all my other ideas, it gets no response.

Complex issue for sure. I haven't run into the multi-currency issue with opps, but I could see it being an issue. If MS Support says it's not supported, you have to take them at their word. :-)

Here are a couple of ideas to research:

    1. Revist your aversion to the OOB Product / Quote / Invoice entites.  Granted, they do have some weird requirements, but they can also be useful.  Maybe re-consider customizing them instead of tossing them out all together?

    2. Re-work the Opportunity forms so they don't have access to those entities.  Might have to start from scratch, have some custom JS, and even do some show/hide of ribbon buttons...but it could be done. If you are already in the path to a custom product entity, you probably have to do this anyway.

    Good luck!
