CRM App ID - Owner of Accounts - CRM 2016

It is my understanding that the CRM App ID is the owner of all Account records in CRM 2016. That means that system admins are the owner of all Account records that are not assigned/owned by a user. How do we allow CRM App ID to be the owner but allow other users to update editable fields on the Account form?

@Gayle Jean - Rather than using that user, which sounds like a system user type user that you probably can't really interact with, you might try using a team. Here are the steps you would take:
    1. Create a team
    2. Use Team Type = Owner
    3. Give that team the same security role that the users you want to be able to interact with the record have
    4. Set the team as the owner of the records
Of course if you already have a team all the users are already a member of you could use that one instead. Using a team will allow you to move users on and off as needed and their interaction with the team owned records would be the same as with another user.

Since I don't know your organizations configuration, if you decide to go down this road I recommend testing a few records at first so you can review how the cascading of relationships is effected and how some of your users interact with the records now owned by a team. Especially if there are more than a handful of records that will be owned by the team.

One more thing to consider, if needed you could update the My views so that the owner equals current user or user's teams. That way the users that are on that team could see the team owned records along with the records they own in their My views.

Hope that helps and that you are having a lovely day wherever you are.
