We have been using the App for outlook for a while and with the April update, the new security role appeared.  I have not yet assigned it to anyone, but the app still appears to be working.  Has anyone needed to assign this security role to your users? wondering if i need to do this?
Again, thank you for your help - love this great community we have!  Laura

I believe its only necessary if you haven't already enabled the app for one or more other security roles. This seems to just be Microsoft making it a little more obvious for people, kind of like the new "Tracked in Dynamics" category in Outlook, when folder tracking could have been set up by any user.

I would say this applies to orgs that haven't enabled the app before now.

Thanks @Peter Gulka! I felt like it was not needed.  Appreciate your confirmation.

    Hi Laura,

As long as your other roles are connected to the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook and they mimic the permissions provided by the new role you should be fine. When we were doing our investigations, we didn't actually need the activity share privilege but this might be needed for future features.
