Automated Email Appointment Reminders

    HI Folks,

I'm doing some research into options for Automated email from D365 to allow the customer to respond and have it update a record in Dynamics 365.  The use case is around Appointment confirmations. I want the customer to be able to respond to the email or interact with the email contents to confirm their scheduled appointment.

Wondering what other folks have setup or solutions/.products they have used for it.

I'm thinking you could use Flow with the trigger "When a HTTP request is received". In the email you send out you build a custom URL that triggers the HTTP request using the Unique ID of the Appointment as a paramater. I hope extracting from the Record ID for the appointment is somehow possible - maybe through the record URL. Or you just use the entire record URL as a paramater. Then, when the customer clicks on the URL you built it triggers the respective Flow which reads out the Appointment ID from the URL (need to build a little bit of logic in Flow then if singling out the ID wasn't possible in an earlier step) and then updates it in CRM.

This is just a thought, haven't tried it in real life. Mostly concerned about how complex it'll be to get the Appointment ID.
