​Hi,
When auditing is turned on for an entity, is this only auditing the transactional records, or is this also auditing any changes made to the entity itself.  I'm looking for a way to see the changes that are being made to the entity characteristics, such as a view is changed, or deleted.

Hi Mary, you could explore whether the User Activity Logging feature provides what you need.

It's more advanced than the Auditing feature in Dynamics 365. It sends all your user activity to the Office 365 Security and Compliance Center where you can query and report on user activity. There are a couple of limitations: it can only be enabled in Production and you need Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses.

Activity Logging​ is only available in production and your users would never make changes to system views in product, right!? So I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for.

Hi Mary!

For the project I work on, we use Snapshot! for Dynamics to produce documentation.
At least once, at the end of every sprint, we extract the documentation from the integration environment. It is then easy to make some verifications. Sadly, it doesnt show who did what though.

Thanks Hughes. We have Snapshot also, but it is just the transactional data.  I'm trying to find a way to audit at a deeper level. We've had some instances recently where views have been updated, or even deleted.  So i'd like to be able to audit some base entities to know if their underlying structure has changed.
