I've seen a few methods of displaying activities or service data on calendar views in a dashboard, but I want to display data from a custom entity onto a Calendar view.

We have created a custom set of entities to track training course bookings and want to display the training courses onto a Calendar in a dashboard on D365 (V8 <g class="gr_ gr_241 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="241" data-gr-id="241">On Premise</g>).

    <g class="gr_ gr_281 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep" id="281" data-gr-id="281">Anyone</g> done anything similar or have thoughts on how to do this <g class="gr_ gr_282 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="282" data-gr-id="282">please</g>?

    Hi,
We had a similar requirement recently from one of our customers.  I've done a lot of work with SharePoint previously where any record with dates could display as a calendar - every record has dates (created on and modified on).  Unfortunately CRM doesn't let us do this, what we did was use activities (ours wasn't a custom entity and was already enabled for activities); we then use a workflow/North52 rule to create appointments for the duration of the entity and plot those appointments in a calendar view.

    Hope this helps

    Hi,
I am not sure if this helps, but we have a solution, GroupCalendar, which you can embed into a Dashboard and show all standard activities of users / teams / resources / facilities and resource groups.
You could have a try and see if it fits.
all information about it can be found on our homepage: GroupCalendar for Microsoft Dynamics 365
    Mscrm-addons remove preview
    GroupCalendar for Microsoft Dynamics 365
The GroupCalendar provides the possibility to display activities from multiple users, teams and resources. It supports several views with the option to define user-specific settings to meet individual requirements. Furthermore, the GroupCalendar enables users to easily reschedule activities via a drag & drop functionality.
    View this on Mscrm-addons >

    Cheers

@Simon West - I know that within the new Dynamics 365 version 9.0 new Unified Interface that you can display a View as Calendar or a List. However, you mention you are on version 8.0 on-premise, so that obviously is not an option, but it's something check into if you are planning on upgrading any time soon.

Here are some screen shots as examples:

    @Aaron Back Thanks.  I saw this and being <g class="gr_ gr_162 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="162" data-gr-id="162">On prem</g> wanted something similar!  So I guess we'll have to wait till V9 comes to <g class="gr_ gr_275 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="275" data-gr-id="275">On Prem</g> :)

Hi @Aaron Back, do you know if it is possible to show this list/calendar option ON a dashboard?  And if so, how?  Thanks!

    Hi Simon West,

You want to display data from a custom entity on a calendar, I suggest you use Calendar 365. Through calendar 365 managing all your customers, appointments, meetings. A calendar that gives you an overview of the scheduled, ongoing, and completed activities of the whole team.

Manage all your activities including tasks, recurring appointments, phone calls, service and campaign activities, etc right from your Dynamics CRM calendar. No more managing multiple calendars and forgetting events, email follow-ups, etc. Create, edit and copy CRM activities as well as custom activities.
The plugin is compatible with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (online and on-premises).

You could have a try and see all information about it can be found on our homepage:
