Is it possible to hide views in main selector?

We have various views that are very specific to sub grid needs on certain records. Unfortunately this clutters up other view selectors, I'm sure you all know this pain.

Does anyone know of a way that we can have a view show up for a sub grid on a record, but not be available in any other view selectors?

Previously there was a bug / work around where you could put a view in the sub grid then deactivate the view and it would still show up on the form but be hidden in any other view selector. As we are testing out our 8.2 on premise to 9.0 online migration this doesn't seem to be the case any more.

@Russ Morris - If you are evaluating 9.0 online, then I would suggest you look into utilizing the Dynamics 365 apps. Within each app, you can specify which Views will be part of the main System Views options in the drop-down. The others can still be used for sub-grid purposes as you mentioned.

How this is done is within the new App Designer. You would select an entity within the App Designer, then select the Views tile. Then uncheck all the View you don't want included.

    Within the 9.0 online:
    • Navigate to https://make.powerapps.com
    • Select Apps on the left-hand side
    • Click the 3 dots next to the app name and select "Edit".
      • This will open the App Designer
    • Select the "View" tile next the entity you need to update.
    • Uncheck the "All" option and then put a checkmark next to the View you want to have visible.

    Before updating:

    After Save/Publish within App Designer:

Thank you! This is exactly what we plan on doing once we finish up our roll out.

For right now we are going to deploy a main app for our initial roll out. I'm hoping we can clean up the view lists to help user adoption now and then start working on creating apps.

It would be great to have the option to hide certain views from the views selector en entity level in the App Designer.

E.g. we have views specifically created for charts used on dashboards only. You don't necessarily have to include these views in the app for the chart to work. However, if the user clicks 'view all records' and the view is not included, it will just open the default view - and that's not what we want. The users will never access these views directly from the view selector on the entity level so it would be great if we could hide them.

What we're doing right now, is using a special character to have those views shown at the end of the view list and then using a chart emoji, to indicate that they are used on a dashboard - like this:

ﻩ 📊 Won and lost opportunities

    Very good information!
Are the Power Apps available only for online version? I am using V9 but on-premise and although some of the interfaces for customizations suggest PowerAps behind the screen, I don't any way to get to this designer.
I might have to guys from on-prem support team.
