A quick public service announcement: Effective Nov 2020, some terminology in Common Data Service has been updated. For example, entity is now table and field is now column.

Thanks for the heads up on this Jerry. At least there are not too many changes, and they didn't decide on "tuple" for rows. I never did like that term. :)

More change for the sake of it.
What is the benefit of this? V
Videos, blogs and documentation will no longer be correct.

Certainly rant-worthy, @Feridun Kadir! I hadn't even considered beyond the inconvenience of unlearning old terms that this means mass changes in documentation and worse - videos! :-o

It will be a brief pain folks but you could also look at it this way, MS are making this change because they want to massively widen the use of what we all know and love as the Dynamics platform. The integration with Teams is a two farm bet. This means that everything we all know just got a lot more valuable.

Thanks for this post, @Jerry Weinstock. I hesitated to give this a "Like" because I really don't like it!
Oh, Microsoft, you keep us on our toes, don't you?

Thank you Jerry for posting about this. I went through my latest blog post and just striked out "entity" and put "table" next to it. It looks like I forgot to strike out "field" and put "column" next to it, though.

Not to worry! It will probably change back one day! :)
