I am trying to pull up my agreements (contracts) by the agreement ID # once an opportunity is closed as won by the global search. I didnt have any issues in old UI with my contract IDs, but now its not showing up.

I thought I had to adjust the query in the view section so I went into each agreement view and added agreement ID contains data but still not working. am I doing it wrong? we are using Categorized search CRM.

    any advice?

@Heather Laughlin - I'm a little confused by your entities you are referencing.  If your screenshot is you trying to find closed as won opportunities, then they will not show up.  When an opportunity is closed as won, then the status is no longer "Active".  This filter criteria is blocking you from finding the record(s).  Try changing the value on your status or removing it altogether.

If you are trying to find a different entity (contracts or agreements?), then perhaps you need to adjust the Quick Find view for that entity and add that field as a quick find field.  If you are using categorized search, you should check to see if the agreement/contract entity is an "indexed" entity in categorized search.  You can double check this in the Settings -> Administration -> System Settings menu in the classic interface where it says "Set up Search."

sorry I mispoke. I am on the agreement entity. I have tried every way to add or remove fields but nothing is working. I created agreements since contract entity didnt carry over to 9.1
I have them in the categorized search option. I went through my agreement views and added the agreement id field and still cant pull the agreement ID from the global search. I was able to do this when contracts existed.

Okay, then it sounds like you need to adjust the Quick Find View for the agreement entity.  There are two different types of columns you can add to this kind of view.  You have display columns (like normal views) and you have find columns (unique to quick find views).  If the field is added as a find column then it should be searchable in the categorized search.  You can only edit/find the quick find views from the solutions and not the advanced filter, so keep that in mind when you try to navigate to it.  There can only ever be one quick find view for each entity type.

thank you for your direction @Jonathan Blackham at least I am on the right track. I was going to my customization and then to agreements then views. I have tried everything and now just went to my solution. said I could only edit unmanaged so I went to the agreement view most recently uploaded that was unmanaged and no luck. I followed your direction.
I am sure its a user error and I am still doing something wrong but I am at a loss!

I added agreement ID to each view.... I even tried the filter options. and I still cant search my agreement ID from global search. I dont get it.

@Heather Laughlin - If you're trying to edit a managed solution, then yes, you won't be able to edit that directly.  You'll need to edit the view another way.  Are you using development environments to push your changes up through to production?  If so, you'll need to make this change in a development environment and push it up.  You can also edit the view from the default solution; that's not best practice, but it will work in a pinch if you need to.

If you have made the change, then go ahead and make sure you save and publish your changes as normal.  I can't remember if the change is immediate or if the system needs to index the new field before you can search it.  Keep that in mind in case there is a delay.

I tried from every aspect I could! and still nothing. I dont get it.
I never had issues with contracts. I actually remember going to the filter option and adding the field I needed and it worked.

I went into customization, agreements, views, every field is included that I want. I tried to add the field in the sort filter option... I removed the field from that option... nothing is working. see below.
even when I try to search on a specific view still cant get it work.

@Heather Laughlin - It looks like you are editing a regular view, not a quick find view.  There are several different types of views that exist on the system.  The only type of view you can create is a regular/public view, but the system automatically creates a look up view, an associated view, and advanced find view, and a quick find view for you.  You can only edit these special types of views.  If you edit the quick find view, you will find options to add a "view column" and a "find column".  You need to add fields as "find columns" for them to be searchable in the global categorized search.

@Heather Laughlin - I'm happy to hear that this worked for you!  Since these special views are not commonly used or modified, I'm going to expand upon the rest of them so you (and others) have more context on how/when you might use them.

Lookup Views-- This view allows you to customize the "look up" experience when you are looking up this entity on a form.  The first few columns in this view (3 or 4) will show up in the summary of the record.  You can also add filters on this view (i.e. status=active, or owner=current user) to restrict what users can "look up."

Advanced Find Views-- This is the "template" view when you create a new advanced find for the particular entity.  You can order the columns a specific way and/or give a default filter so all new advanced finds you create have a more convenient starting point.

Associated Views-- This is the way records are shown when they are listed as related to another record.  When you see this entity on the "N" side of a relationship (1:N or N:N) this view allows you to configure the columns, sorting, and filtering that will automatically be applied to the results.

Quick Find Views-- This is the view that changes what is searchable through the global search.  The find columns are what the CRM searches on, and the view columns are what data is shown on your results.  I can't remember if the view columns are automatically added as find columns, so keep that in mind.

    Hopefully that helps!!
