Edit Quote Close Form

  • 1.  Edit Quote Close Form

    Is there any way you can edit the Quote Close form in customizations?  I am referring to the pop-up window that appears if you were to try creating an order or closing a quote from the quote record.  I'd like to add a few more field options in the pop-up window, but it seems this is not editable.  Seems strange if that is the case.

    Has anyone else experienced this same problem and come up with a different solution or workaround?

    Kyle, I don't think that is possible. You can try to replace the popup with a custom web page and add whatever you like on that page.

    This is another interesting way to achieve this using Dialogs. The example in this case is a Case resolution dialog, but I think it can be used in similar way for Quote close as well.

    Sunil - Thanks!  I tried this and it worked exactly as I had hoped.  The only question I have now is whether a Dialog process can be configured into an action button to make the UI more intuitive.

    I've not used Business Process Flows yet.  So I will have to some additional research to see how this compares to using Dialogs.

    As Fabien mentioned, Dialogs are depreciated so they will be removed from D365CE in a future update. I would recommend you don't use this method unless you are on premise and have no plans to go online or update your version.

    Thanks, yes I saw that.  But it's not real apparent to me how a Business Process Flow can function as an equivalent to a Dialog.  The Dialog process was easy to set up and there were clearly defined stages already for the Input Arguments, Variables, and Prompt and Response steps.  I couldn't find a good explanation for how this would be set up using Business Process Flows.

    Hi Kyle

    There's no current way to do this through the platform, but Microsoft announced the ability to customise the Case Resolution Dialog box and the Opportunity Close Dialog box in Wave 2 of the 2019 updates to D365. So this is something that might be on the roadmap.
